Chesapeake fishing at its best  !

About the Chesapeake Guides Association

The Chesapeake Guides Association (CGA) promotes light tackle angling and fly-fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, its rivers, and the mid-Atlantic region. Formed in 2000, the CGA supports reducing pollution and conserving the Bay’s fisheries. Many CGA members actively work to restore and protect other natural resources through various conservation groups.

Nearly all of the active Chesapeake light tackle and fly fishing guides belong to the CGA. Our members must hold a current U.S. Coast Guard license and a professional fishing guide license from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and/or the Virginia Marine Resources Commission. All CGA guides must also actively fish within the Chesapeake region.

When you fish with a CGA guide, you’ll leave the dock confident you’re spending the day with a professional angler who knows local waters. CGA members support each other with current fishing reports and tips, which enhance your fishing experience. After all, that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?

We look forward to seeing you on the water with one of CGA’s fine guides. Good fishing!
