About the Chesapeake Guides Association
The Chesapeake Guides Association (CGA) promotes light tackle angling and fly-fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, its rivers, and the mid-Atlantic region. Formed in 2000, the CGA supports reducing pollution and conserving the Bay’s fisheries. Many CGA members actively work to restore and protect other natural resources through various conservation groups.
Nearly all of the active
Chesapeake light tackle and fly fishing guides belong to the CGA. Our
members must hold a current U.S. Coast Guard license and a professional
fishing guide license from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources
and/or the Virginia Marine Resources Commission. All CGA guides must also
actively fish within the Chesapeake region.
**** On the CGA News And Events page you will find the link to the "rockfish survey."
